Asset Management One USA Inc. (“Asset Management One USA”) is a New York-based investment advisor and a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Asset Management One Co., Ltd. (“Asset Management One”), a global asset management company based in Japan.

Asset Management One was originally established in 1999 under the name of DLIBJ Asset Management Co., Ltd. as a joint venture between Mizuho Financial Group and The Dai-Ichi Life Insurance Company from pre-existing asset management units within each company.  The company changed its name to DIAM Co., Ltd. in 2008 to reflect its growth and increased international stature.  In October 2016, the company adopted an entirely new name, Asset Management One, as a result of the integration of DIAM Co., Ltd., Mizuho Asset Management Co., Ltd., Shinko Asset Management Co., Ltd., and Asset Management divisions of Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd.
 

In addition to Asset Management One USA in the Unites States, Asset Management One has three other overseas subsidiaries located in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Hong Kong.  

Asset Management One USA was established in 1994 under the name of Dai-ichi Life Investment Management, Co., Ltd.  The company was renamed to DLIBJ Asset Management USA, Inc. in 2000 when it was brought under control of DLIBJ Asset Management Co., Ltd.  It  was further renamed DIAM U.S.A., Inc. in 2008 and finally to Asset Management One USA in October 2016, following the name changes of its parent company. 

On January 1, 2020, Asset Management One USA acquired Mizuho Alternative Investments (“MAI”) from MAI’s parent company Mizuho Americas LLC （Bank Holding Company of Mizuho Financial Group）. MAI was established in 2007 as a New York- based investment advisor, focusing on developing and managing quantitative investment strategies.
